Official Training Centre for Alpine Canada Given Nakiska’s extensive snowmaking system, it is also the official training centre for Alpine Canada and is proud to support the early-season training needs of Canada’s alpine athletes. Proud to support a Canmore local preparing for the Olympics For Canadian ski cross racer Kris Mahler, the road to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina, Italy, doesn’t start in Europe. It begins here at home in the Canadian Rockies — at Nakiska, the resort that has shaped him as an athlete, a competitor, and a person.
We are pleased to sponsor Kris Mahler, a local ski cross athlete, on his road to the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. He is one of the top ski cross athletes in the world, and we are excited to cheer him on as he has dedicated his life to his sport and has inspired many others with his comeback story. As he pushes toward Milano-Cortina, Mahler knows the mountains will keep shaping him. “Every RCR resort has played a role in my journey. They’ve each given me something different — but together, they’ve given me the foundation to chase my Olympic dream.” It’s all about the snow at Nakiska Continued massive investment in the Canadian Rockies’ most extensive snowmaking system is focused on moving towards a semi-automatic system. The addition of new Lances on Eye-Opener enables direct, targeted snow production and allows us to be energy and resource-efficient, especially in borderline temperatures. We have also made significant investments in new snowmaking gun heads on Grand Trunk. We are known for good grooming Nakiska continues to make significant investments in new grooming equipment, as the team prides itself on providing some of the best groomed skiing and riding in the Alberta Rockies.
Nakiska is ahead of the game in Grooming Snow with the addition of a new Prinoth Snow Grooming machine, which is engineered to operate on highly variable terrain and is the most powerful and productive in its class. It is designed to use less fuel while still meeting the power needs to enhance your skiing and riding experience. We have enhanced the parking experience Over the summer, we resurfaced and paved several of our parking lots to improve access.
