KRIS MAHLER

RCR SPONSORED ATHLETE

Kris is recognized as one of the world’s top ski cross athletes, known not only for his results but also for the grounded, humble approach he brings to everything he does. Between competitions and training blocks, he travels the country in his beloved 1986 VW Syncro—affectionately named Pugsley—seeking out new terrain, new challenges, and meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. His journey reflects the same authenticity and passion that define his racing.

A World Cup champion with multiple World Cup victories and a Canadian Championship title, Kris devotes countless hours to developing every part of himself as an athlete—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Competing against the strongest field in the world, he stands out for his relentless commitment, work ethic, and heart. His resilience has become a point of inspiration for teammates and the next generation of Canadians, especially after his remarkable return to competition last season following a broken neck. His comeback reflects not only his love for the sport but a deeper drive to grow through adversity.

“Resorts of the Canadian Rockies believes in supporting people who follow their passion, who are committed to being the very best they can and don’t give up when faced with extreme challenges,” says Powder Matt Mosteller, Senior Vice President Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “Kris, coming back to race this winter from what would have ended most athletes’ careers, is a great example of the resilience, grit, and immense determination to be the very best, to come back and compete in his sport,” added Powder Matt.
