As the 2014-2015 season at Nakiska begins to wind down, we have taken a step back to reflect on what has happened over the last year. In June 2014 we offered a groundbreaking deal on our season’s passes, which proved to be an incredible success. Our goal was to get people back outside and on the slopes, and we were thrilled when so many people took advantage of our special offer. We recently received this letter from Dave, and he agreed to let us share it with you all:

I just wanted to take the time to thank you and the team at RCR for making the decision to offer 2014-15 Nakiska passes at such an amazing rate this year.

After a dozen years of not being a regular skier, your promotion finally got me out of the habit of staying indoors, all weekend, during the winter. Because of the reduced rate I was able to get new gear for me and put my two girls (5 and 7) into lessons. We were out at the hill yesterday and they finished 10 runs! As a life-long Calgarian (a unicorn, I know) I can honestly say that I’ve come to appreciate Nakiska more than ever.

I’m not sure what the plans are at RCR for 2015/16 but I do hope you’re able to keep the early-bird rates at Nakiska low-enough for our family to take advantage again. Knowing how much my kids have taken a liking to skiing I have a feeling we will be able to do a weekend trip to Fernie next winter. And who knows, I may even be able to convince my wife to give skiing another try!

Again, in case you haven’t been getting enough kudos this season (I know there have been some challenges) I just wanted to let you and the team know how much Nakiska is appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. See you on the slopes!

Dave, we couldn’t be more thrilled that you took skiing up again this year and introduced your children into the sport, thank you for sharing your story. We’ve received many letters like this and are proud that we hit the mark with our pass sale and helped bring people back to skiing.

It’s letters like this that put a smile on our faces when we come to work in the morning!
